Terms of use
The agreement between you and us when you use Online Wedding Invitation in Australia, in plain English wherever we can manage it.
Last updated 21 October 2026
Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply whenever you use onlineweddinginvitation.au: creating an account, building a wedding website, sending invitations or replying to one. By creating an account you agree to them, along with our privacy policy. You need to be 18 or older to open an account.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. Accounts belong to the Australian site; if your wedding is in New Zealand, please sign up on onlineweddinginvitation.nz instead.
Early access and paid plans
While we are in early access, every feature is free. When paid plans begin, each will be a single payment per wedding in Australian dollars with GST included, shown on our pricing page before you pay. There are no subscriptions and nothing renews.
We will email early-access couples well before paid plans start, explaining what it means for their wedding.
Refunds and the Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms limits them. If a paid service has a major failure, you are entitled to cancel and get a refund; for a minor failure, we will put it right within a reasonable time.
Our full refund policy will be published here before payments open.
Your content
Everything you add, from words and photos to your guest list, stays yours. You give us permission to store it, copy it where running the service needs it (backups, or a resized photo) and show it to the people you share your website with. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
Please only upload photos and words you have the right to use, and make sure the people in your photos are happy to appear on your website.
Your guests
You are responsible for the guest list you build. Add only people you are inviting, use their details for your wedding, and only send them messages about it. The Spam Act 2003 requires consent for commercial messages, so the sending tools are not for promoting a business, even a wedding-related one.
Fair use
Please don’t use the service to break the law or anyone’s rights; harass, threaten or deceive anyone; send bulk email to people you don’t know; upload malware or try to get into accounts and data that aren’t yours; or put heavy automated load on the site.
We may suspend or remove content or accounts that do, and where we can, we’ll tell you why first.
Your website after the wedding
Your website stays online for at least 12 months after your wedding date, longer on some paid plans. We will email you before we take a site down, so you have time to download your guest list and anything else you want to keep.
When things go wrong
We work hard to keep the site running and your information safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors, and email providers sometimes delay or filter messages. Keep your own copy of anything essential; exporting your guest list before the big day is a good habit.
Apart from the guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for anything caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
Ending things
You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.
If we ever shut the service down, we will give at least 30 days’ notice so you can export your guest list, and refund the unused part of any paid plan.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service grows. We will change the date at the top, and email account holders about changes that matter at least 14 days before they take effect.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws in force in Australia, and a dispute can be heard in the courts of the state or territory where you live. Questions about them are welcome at hello@onlineweddinginvitation.au.
