Made Your Wedding Invitation in Canva? How to Add Online RSVPs
Designed your invitation in Canva? Export it at the right size, send it with a personal RSVP link for each household, then track replies and send reminders.
In short
Canva is a great way to design a wedding invitation: there are thousands of templates and you can change every detail. What it doesn't do is the part that comes after you hit download. Canva won't track who has replied, collect dietary requirements or remind the cousins who haven't answered. Here's how to keep your Canva design and add proper online RSVPs to it.

1. Get the design right in Canva
- Size: 5 x 7 inches (127 x 178 mm) or A5 (148 x 210 mm) are the standard invitation sizes and look good on a phone screen too.
- Leave out the RSVP details you'd normally print, like "reply to Mum on 0412…". The online RSVP replaces them.
- Keep text away from the edges. Phones and printers both crop a little.
2. Export it
In Canva choose Share → Download:
- PNG for sending online. It keeps fine lettering crisp.
- JPG if the file is very large (photos in the design).
- PDF Print if you're also printing copies.
3. Upload it
On Online Wedding Invitation there are two places your Canva design can go:
- As your save the date card. Open Save the date, choose Upload your design and pick your PNG or JPG. Your card replaces ours, and you still choose the paper colour, envelope and background it arrives in.
- As the cover of your wedding website. Add it as the image at the top of your site. Every guest's personal invitation link opens on your design, with the RSVP just below.
4. Send it with a personal RSVP link
Each household gets its own link. They tap it, see your design, and reply for everyone on the invitation, event by event, including dietary requirements and plus-ones. You can send:
- by email,
- by WhatsApp, one household at a time (there are messages to copy here), from your own phone,
- by text,
- or on paper: print your Canva PDF and tuck in a small card with each household's QR code (see how to get QR codes right).
5. Track and remind
Your guest list shows who has opened the invitation, who has replied and who hasn't. A week before your RSVP date, send a reminder to just the people still to answer.
Should you use Canva or our designs?
Use Canva if you want complete freedom, already love a template, or have a designer friend helping. Use our designs if you'd rather type your names and be done: they match your wedding website automatically and change colour with your theme. Either way, the RSVPs, reminders and guest list work the same.
Your design sits on top of a full online wedding RSVP, with dietaries, plus-ones and reminders.
